MONICA CRUZ THORNTON SPOKE AT LORMAN'S "BUSINESS AND PROFESSIONS CODE SECTION 17200 IN CALIFORNIA" SEMINAR
Monica Cruz Thornton was once again a faculty speaker for the Lorman Education Services Seminar entitled, "Business and Professions Code Section 17200 In California." The seminar took place in Los Angeles on July 20th.
Specialists in the field discussed new developments, litigation strategies from the plaintiffs' and defense perspective, and practical aspects of handling California's quickly-changing Unfair Competition Law, statutorily known as Business and Professions Code Section 17200. Ms. Thornton focussed on the defense litigation perspective of "Litigation Strategies for Successfully Defending Business and Professions Code Section 17200 Cases," and discussed some recent decisions to consider in defending these matters. This was an especially relevant topic given the voter initiative passage of Proposition 64.
Ms. Thornton, whose practice includes extensive litigation in this area, is a partner in the Los Angeles office. In addition to an active business litigation practice, she heads the firm's Intellectual Property, Business Litigation and Employment practice groups.
